Beginning November 9th, 2016, Facebook group TRUTH IN POLITICS NEWS FEED will begin its campaign to continue Democratic progress in the House of Representatives and Senate.
PLEASE ADD MEMBERS
The purpose of the group is to continue to encourage voters to stay on top of politics between elections. In 2012, Democrats gained seats in the House and Senate, only go freely give it back in 2014. Our objective should be to gain seats in 2016, and then build on our progress in 2018. A weekly newsletter will be posted to this group, highlighting some of the inner workings of Congress and the White House at times when few pay attention. We will attempt to spice up what can be boring stuff, which will help you share, and educate your friends and groups. There is no off-season. Should Hillary win the election, and should Democrats take back the Senate and make significant gains in the House of Representatives, then we will need to view November 9th as the pre-game show. Remember that in 2014, Republicans regained the majority in the House and Senate with an unbelievably low 10% approval rating. This was due to Democrats not taking mid-term elections seriously, and failing to show. In fact, only 17% of registered Democrats showed up at the polls. Then, and this is the really fun part, Republicans boasted loudly "The people have spoken" and took it as a mandate to increase their obstructionism and assault on the middle class.
WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED
I feel very good about what we all accomplished over the last year. The articles that I have written have been read from between hundreds to many thousands. What I'll never know is how many people may have used the "copy and paste" method of sharing. The biggest share count on one of my articles is currently at 105,000 but I believe that many prefer the "copy and paste" method of sharing, or using their favorite part of an article and re-wording it to suit their personal preferences as far as style goes. Between copying and inspiring others to write similar articles, combined with the influence on certain members of the media that have been following along and grabbing fuel from the articles to present to their national audience, etc. I believe that collectively, our groups and individuals, we have all influenced millions of people.
November 6th, 2018, WE MUST REFUSE give our gains back to the GOP. Hillary will need a strong mandate in order to limit the obstructionism and baby games which they deliberately harmed the middle class for political gain over the last seven years. If we stay connected, may net a super-majority in the House and Senate for Democrats. This will allow Hillary to move the nation forward with great progress and speed. It will also help to set her up for re-election in 2020, and give Democrats a chance to correct the gerrymandering that Republicans violated the electorate with in 2000.
DEBUNKING MYTHS
We have debunked most of the false scandals waged by the Republican party against Hillary for the last two decades, smashing them to pieces with fact. We've given strength to thousands of people who would have otherwise given up on pushing for truth to be told, and given hope where there was despair and frustration. We changed the way mainstream media does their job by promoting Journalists that provide honest and factual commentary, and refuse to allow lies and misinformation to stink up their show. We called out, in no uncertain terms the Journalists who simply allow equal time and respect to piles of bullshit in the sole interest of higher ratings.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
Tough paragraph to write. There are so many reasons that if you're a patriotic American, you simply cannot trust the GOP to act in our best interest. It's impossible to do anything but bullet point a few of the Republican attacks on truth, justice and the American way. It's been going on for a couple of decades, yet every election their supporters are pandered to. They are duped into supporting Republicans based on empty promises and lies. Once elected, it's back to supporting large corporations, oil and weapons profiteers, willing to sacrifice thousands of middle class American men in unnecessary wars. That's not all. Here's a partial list of why they need to go.
1. American deaths due to wars waged for oil and weapons profits.
2. Climate Change which will displace up to a billion in low-lying regions by year 2100.
3. Pollution from oil spills and fires are causing thousands of species to go extinct.
4. Common sense gun regulations to keep assault weapons out of the hands of terrorists and criminals.
5. Education. We need to bring the United States back up to #1. Public K-14 is vital.
6. Equal pay for women, increasing average family incomes to a sustainable level.
7. Protecting and correcting minimum wage, bringing millions of families out of poverty.
8. Protecting and improving health care. Stop legal medical racketeering.
9. Racism, sexism and hate, xenophobia and fascism.
10.Get dirty corporate money out of politics. They pay no taxes, yet control policy.
11. Make Trump and other billionaires pay some taxes.
12. Protect the middle class from tax increases.
That's just a few. Stay tuned and up to date. We're not only going to hold Republicans accountable for their actions in Congress, but we will also be keeping track of campaign promises and progress in the White House. Think of this as a watchdog group, keeping things real and honest.
