Well, isn't that just nice... There will be a lot of provisional ballots to count, but those don't seem to ever change the result. The people have spoken, and the soul of America is NOT in good hands for the next four years. The only good news is that The Founding Fathers expected this battle between good and evil. They wrote a document and set of laws that provided us with the ability to take charge in a relatively non-violent way. They trusted that we would return to their instructions, and reject fascism in the voting booth, but also took into account the possibility that a dictator gets into the Oval Office. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE A CONSTITUTION.  The great experiment will be challenged, and our steadfast commitment to corrective action is required. DO NOT FADE AWAY.

HOW HE WON
At this point, I'm not sure I can utter his name preceded by the words President Elect. The insane reality show star came into the primary race with a guaranteed 13 million fans. These people were star-struck and convinced that their reality show hero would somehow wave his magic wand, tell everyone they're fired, and wave his wand again and double their income, end ISIS, etc. Trump already won the Republican primaries before the first state voted. A field of really bad Republicans, sixteen of them splitting the rest of the Republican vote locked in their fate from the start. Add the fact that Trump received over $2 billion in free media during the primaries and nobody stood a chance. Had the GOP realized this, and agreed to put just one person up against Trump early in the process, the results would have been quite different.

Gradually his actual failures in business became apparent, but by then, he had drummed up enough fellow haters and liars that it didn't matter to them. A large percentage of his voters were uneducated reality show junkies who were first-time voters. These people were not included in the polling numbers, but I believe both campaigns knew they were there all along.

He may be facing a slew of federal charges from racketeering to espionage to sexual assault. If so, we can expect a President Pence in the near future, and more than likely he would choose Paul Ryan as his Vice President. He ran by violating Republican policy by actually speaking publicly of the racism, sexism, xenophobia and other fascist viewpoints that the GOP has demonstrated for a long time, but the wink-wink dog whistles were tossed into the trash by Trump, and now we know exactly what the Republican party represents. Nothing but weapons and oil profits.

The Constitution of the United States as well as democracy itself is being tested. How we respond will determine the future.

PROJECTION
You have probably read my articles on "projection". This is the art of hiding something you're guilty of by accusing your opponent of the same, diverting attention from ones own flaws or corruption. 

Considering the Comey letter, what was more than likely a coordinated effort to fix the election by GOP leadership and the Trump campaign, a RIGGED ELECTION is exactly what took place. It was nothing less than a last minute coup d'etat by the GOP. 

WE RALLIED
We rallied behind Hillary, promoting the truth and calling out the lies which did have an impact, but not enough, as the angry mob chose to burn everything down anyway. With a multitude of supporting video and audio evidence, we were able to push the truth, and do the work that Hillary herself could not do. Misogynist attitudes would not allow her to play the victim and defend herself. So, the responsibility of DEFENDING HILLARY fell on us.  WE DID NOT QUIT.

2018
We MUST keep our coalition together. In 2014, just 17% of Democratic voters showed up at the poll. With a 10% approval rating, Republicans gained seats in both the House and the Senate.  

WE MUST NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AGAIN. Everyone needs to stay focused and pay attention, and make it to the polls on NOVEMBER 6, 2018 where we can build a Senate and House that represents our progressive ideals.

Tomorrow we begin finishing the job of fixing Washington.
